Gamer Boy

Dear Queen of Rant

I understand video games are fun to play.  I mean I even play them once and awhile.  However, I do not understand how one can play them for hours, every day.  Don't they get boring after awhile.  My man plays way to much.  There are manly jobs that have to get done around the house, a few fixes and such that will probably never get done as long as there is a Playstation 3 in my house.  By then a new Call of Duty game will be out, and my man will be glued to the TV for every minute that he is not working.  Can he be distracted by something else or is this something I am just going to have to deal with... forever?

  1. Video games can get addictive, and playing them for long hours can effect your personal life, your health and overall well-being. Unfortunately you cannot make him see this, and he needs to see this on his own. You can try to motivate him, not with negativity though. Suggest other things to do, or just flat out ask him to repair the stuff around the house that you want fixed, and thank him when he does it. It seems he is not motivated, and maybe you know why this is.

  2. Toss the PS3 in the garbage. He will not change if he is addicted. I left my husband over video games, it got that bad. Just do yourself a favor, and stomp on it, sell it, or toss it out on the street. :)

  4. If the wife would help around the house or even just put out once in a while i'd never touch my ps3 again. But i do 90% of the housework, repairs, bills, laundry, cooking and cleaning. On top of that she has absolutely no sex drive, never has (wedding cake cured that) so i have to do that myself too. So when i have some free time I'm going to spend it playing video games! They are fun, dont bitch and if i dont like one i can just guy another.

  5. Have you tried sexy lingerie, or standing in front of him just plain naked?

  6. Have you ever thought of picking up the second controller? My man LOVES his PS3 but now we fight over who's going to be first player. My house is immaculate and he does the fixes and helps with the dishes. What man truly wants to do housework? Then again men, Do you really think us women enjoy it? Try meeting him halfway. And for the lady that said throw it out, man if I was your partner I'd slap you into next week for even mentioning that idea. Sheesh you crazy woman.

  7. Next time he is playing his PS3, walk into the wearing Nothing but a towel, stand in between him & the TV& drop the towel. If he asks you to move from in front of the TV & tells you to pick up your towel, then you know for sure he is gay.
But then again, most guys that play those games are a little "different" anyway.
